Description

Deflazacort is a corticosteroid used in the treatment of Inflammatory conditions, Autoimmune conditions, and cancer. It is commonly used to treat Duchene muscular dystrophy in adults and children above 2 years of age. Duchene muscular dystrophy (DMD) is a progressive disease in which the muscles do not function properly. The medicine increases the level of glucocorticoid in the body and works by reducing the formation of substances that cause inflammation and suppresses immunity to stop self-damaging the body by the immune system usually seen in auto-immune reactions occurring in organ transplants or cancer.

Take the Deflazacort tablets as per the dosage and duration prescribed by the doctor. Do not chew, crush or break the tablets. Swallow the whole tablet with a glass of water. Some people may experience a few side effects such as nausea, chest pain, vomiting, drowsiness, headache, dizziness, skin rash, tremor, nervousness, diarrhea, and fast heartbeats.
