The government of India has made some strict protocols for granting license for manufacturing and marketing of the drugs and medications. The Wholesale Drug License is issued for the sales of the drugs under the supervision of legal authorities. Under the wholesale drug license, the competent staff education qualification and experience is either a registered pharmacist or should be graduate in any stream. He should have minimum 1 year of experience of sales and marketing in the drugs.

Requirements of Premises for Wholesale Drug License in India

Area Of Premises – The premises of the pharmacists should have 15 square meter for retail and whole business venture. It is the minimum square meter, one can have more than that but less than 15 is not adequate for it.

Storage of the Medications and Drugs – There are some drug and medications which are required to be stored in the refrigerator for sustaining their durability for a longer period. The individual should have refrigerator and air conditioner for temperature controlled medications.

Education Qualification –  The pharmacist should be registered under the State Pharmacy Council if not then he should have adequate qualification.

He should be a graduation holder with minimum 1 year of experience in the sales and marketing of drugs.

If the individual has passed S.S.L.C then he should require more than 4 years of experience in the industry under the reputed pharmaceutical industry.

List of Documents Required for Applying Wholesale Drug License

There is certain list of documents which are required to have before applying for the Wholesale Drug License. Here are the required documents. Make sure that you have scanned copies of these documents too for the further use.

• Constitution of the entity – Memorandum of Association (MOA), Articles of Association (AOA) for a company, partnership deed, LLP agreement in case of partnership and LLP.
• ID proof of partner/director/proprietor.
• Documents related to premises – Copy of ownership documents of property or rental agreement as the case may be.
• Site plan and key plan of the premises.
• Copy of Board resolution permitting obtaining of a license.
• Proof of availability of storage space as cold storage, refrigerator, etc.
• Copy of challan as a proof of depositing fee.
• Affidavit regarding non-conviction of proprietor/partner/director and the firm.
• The affidavit from the registered pharmacist/competent person.
• For a pharmacist at a wholesale sale::
  – Proof of qualification
  – Experience certificate
  – Appointment letter

Application for the Wholesale Drug License

1. Apply online for the Drug License under the Licensing Authority with a valid email and contact number, so that they can reach to you.
2. Update all the required documents by scanning them , if you are doing offline procedure then submit all the required documents to the officials. 
3. Now upload the application form and upload the documents along  with the required application fees.
4. Once the online process is completed, wait for the next step.
5. Now you will get a date. On that date the inspection official will visit your place to inspect the site and verify the uploaded documents.
